During the Star Wars Celebration stream today, the sequel to the popular 2019 action RPG Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was revealed. Electronic Arts, Respawn and Lucasfilm Games announced that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is currently targeting a 2023 release for current console platforms and PC. Check out the trailer below:
Pretty cryptic, huh? The trailer can be paired with this extremely spoiler-averse synopsis, via a press release from EA:
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor picks up five years after the events of Jedi: Fallen Order. Cal must stay one step ahead of the Empire’s constant pursuit as he begins to feel the weight of being one of the last remaining Jedi in the galaxy. Accompanied by his trusty companion BD-1, Cal will meet and ally himself with an array of unique and interesting characters on his journey. Jedi: Survivor will expand on the series’ dynamic combat in new and innovative ways. In order to survive, Cal must learn new skills and grow his connection with the Force.
The most notable part for now is that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is only being developed on current generation platforms. So that’s Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC only. Fallen Order was not only a big game in fidelity terms on previous generation platforms, a significant update was made for the new consoles in 2021. Survivor is going to be a powerful piece of software at the very least.
