The South Korean electronics giant LG has unveiled the world’s first 12-inch high-resolution stretchable display and the company has introduced the same after a large-scale R&D project by Korea’s Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy, driven by LG since 2020. The newly introduced display is capable for anything which means you can able to extend the same, you can fold or twist without any distortion, creases, or damage.
LG 12-inch High-resolution Stretchable Display is the first display to achieve 20% stretchability along with 100ppi resolution and full-color RGB. It is made of high-quality Silicon substrate used in contact lenses and the same has a rubber-like flexibility, it is capable to extend its length and you can extend up to 14 inch as well. The LG 12-inch High-resolution Stretchable Display features a micro-LED light source with a high level of durability and it is also coming with flexible S-form spring wired system.
We don’t know about the commercial availability of the display but it will definitely enable brands to offer innovative products.
