Adani Group surprised everyone by participating in the 5G spectrum mega auction back in July/August, and it was said that the company has taken the licence for 5G for its own company to offer high speed internet. But now Adani Data Networks, which is a unit of Adani Group has received a unified licence from the Department of Telecommunications in six circles, that means the company can offer telecom service in the country like Airtel or any other operator.
The company has received the licence for the circles including Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, and Mumbai. And the company is now eligible to offer long-distance calls to its network and offer internet services. Via
Adani Data bought a 400MHz spectrum in the 26GHz band for 212 crores. I don’t have any other information like the launching date of its service and the details about the packages and pricing. But we can expect an aggressive approach similar to the Jio when it arrived for the first time in the country a couple of years ago.
Another interesting element, Adani is going to give a head to head competition in the same business segment against Reliance for the first time.
