India has adopted 5G connectivity but supported devices are not compatible with the new generation connectivity because it need to be unlocked by a new software update. Now the Chinese electronics giant Xiaomi has officially confirmed that it is joining hands with Airtel to offer Airtel 5G Plus support for all the compatible devices. The company is having lots of devices under the Xiaomi and Redmi branding.
It is worth mentioning that Airtel 5G Plus is presently available in more than eight cities including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Jamnagar, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Pune, Siliguri, and Varanasi. The service is currently in the beta stage and the same is based on the NSA structure and there is no need to upgrade in new SIM card to experience the next generation 5G connectivity.
Now let’s check out the list of the devices which will get 5G connectivity after the collaboration of the smartphone brand and the telecom operator.
The list includes Xiaomi 12 Pro, Mi 11 Ultra, Xiaomi 11T Pro, Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G, Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge, Xiaomi 11i, Mi 11X Pro, Mi 11X, Mi 10T Pro, Mi 10T, and Mi 10 as well as Redmi K50i, Redmi 11 Prime 5G, Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G, Redmi Note 11T 5G, and Redmi Note 10T 5G
To enjoy 5G connectivity on the compatible devices of the Xiaomi or Redmi smartphones, users need to go to Settings > tap on SIMs > Select “5G (recommended)” from the preferred network type menu, you need to Select 5G or 5G/4G/3G from the list. You can also enter the code *#*#*4636*#*#* in the dialler app and navigate to phone information to see a list of different types of networks and then choose “NR only” or “NR/LTE” to connect to 5G.
