India is now 5G ready and Jio as well as Airtel is offering the latest connectivity option in the country in selected cities as the service is currently in the beta stage. However, users need to get an update from the smartphone brands to unlock the 5G connectivity on the compatible devices and majority of devices will get the update before the end of this month. Now the download speed results are out and that is showing Jio is offering better download speed than Airtel 5G Plus service.
Ookla is one of the popular platforms to check internet speed and the platform has disclosed Jio 5G network is offering faster download speed. According to the report, the average Jio 5G download speed remained between 606.53Mbps and 875.26Mbps while using the C-band. Via
On the other hand, Airtel 5G managed to achieve a median download speed of 365.48 Mbps-716.85 Mbps. It is also said that Ookla used Speedtest data to compare median 5G download speeds across four cities where both networks are having their coverage.
It is worth mentioning that Jio is doing better maybe because it acquired the most spectrum, especially the highly demanded C-band spectrum. Moreover, Jio is the only network which is having a spectrum band of 700MHz. Well, that offers an upper hand to Jio over Airtel.
