Like all other major new releases, Windows 11 has two bugs. One of them can lead to app crash problems and the other can cause BSODs.Both were first discovered in the November 2021 patch, which affects even the latest versions of Windows 10.
Microsoft’s known issues page (via Windows Latest) found that Windows 11 app crashes are linked to Microsoft Installer (MSI) failures. Findings indicate that apps from Kaspersky and some other apps are known to be infected. Crashes only occur when you apply an update to the affected app or try to fix it with Windows settings or troubleshooter.
Fortunately, part of Windows 11 Build 22000.348 (KB5007262) provides a solution to app crash issues for testers in beta and preview channels. The release notes that the patch contains a solution to a problem that prevents apps from opening after users have updated or repaired with Microsoft Installer (MSI). It will be released soon for regular users.
Microsoft has previously stated that they are working on a solution and in the meantime would recommend that users reinstall their apps if the apps crash.
The update also includes fixes for broken Appx PowerShell cmdlet functionality that affected PowerShell 7.1 and later. There is also a fix for the “bad image” error that pops up during startup. There is also a fix for the “bad image” error that pops up during startup.
Also, Microsoft has fixed a Windows 11 app crashes that caused searchindexer.exe to crash or cause high memory usage in remote desktop environments.
Finally, a fix was implemented for a bug that caused the device to stop responding when it returned from sleep or hibernation.
