Back in June, we came through a report which suggested that the Google will launch a mid-range Pixel and that will be powered by the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 710 chipset. That said, we also heard that the device is codenamed as “Bonito”. However, after that, we did not hear anything about the device, but today we got a report which suggests that the Google will launch a mid-range Pixel smartphone in India as well as in other emerging markets.
According to the source, the Mountain View company Google will launch a mid-range Pixel smartphone in India and it will be priced between ₹40,000 to 50,000, and the source claims that the information has been obtained by two people who are familiar with this. Well, the mentioned price bracket is not considered as mid-range but as we know that pixel devices (first and second generation) came with a very high price tag and maybe that’s why the company saying this price tag as a mid-range category.
Furthermore, the report also says that Google is planning to launch the mid-range Pixel device in India to give a head-to-head competition with OnePlus that enjoys a very good success in India. Having said that, the sources says that one of the people who is familiar with the mid-range Pixel device said that the company will launch the device in the Indian market by early days of the next year, which means the company is planning to launch the device after the launch of Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, and that usually happens after a couple of weeks of its official unveiling. And the other person familiar with the device also said that the reason for Google to launch a mid-tier Pixel in India to take on the Chinese brands such as OPPO and Vivo.
That’s not all, the source also says that the Google Pixel hardware team recently visited India to understand the market which is the second largest Smartphone market in the world. Well, if this information turns out true then Google will able to attract more people.
