Qualcomm unveiled new wireless augmented reality viewer glasses at the Snapdragon launch event in China. It also includes functions such as lightweight, thinner and 90hz refresh rate OLED displays. The company also unveiled the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 and Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipsets for smartphones at the same event.
In 2018, Qualcomm unveiled its first platform for AR and VR headsets, dubbed the XR1 platform, and as a continuum, it continues to climb, now bringing new hardware and software for advanced viewer technology.
Qualcomm’s New AR Glasses

These wireless AR glasses come in 40% thinner design than the previous design because heavy glasses can also cause headaches. According to Qualcomm, this is not a complete design. It is only to unveil its new Wireless AR Smart Viewer awe-inspiring design for its OEM partners.The considerationless design of the Wireless AR Smart Viewer includes dual micro-OLED binocular displays with a pair-up of up to 1920 x 1080p resolution, and supports frame rates up to 90Hz.
The glasses feature dual monochrome cameras and another RGB camera (6DoF) that allows head tracking at 6 degrees freedom. It also has a hand tracking capability that can easily identify your gestures.
