The popular chipset maker MediaTek has officially introduced its new chipset dubbed MediaTek Dimensity 1080 and it is coming with the support for up to 200 megapixel camera sensor as well. It will be available from next year. So without making any further delay let’s dive into the article to check out the complete details of the newly announced chipset.
The MediaTek Dimensity 1080 is based on 6nm process and the same features two ARM Cortex-A78 CPU cores clocking at up to 2.6GHz and six ARM-Cortex A55 cores working at up to 2GHz. The chipset is also coming with Mali-G68 MC4 graphics.
MediaTek Dimensity 1080 is supporting LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The highlighting element of the chipset is its camera capabilities, the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chip can support up to 200MP sensors with no shutter lag. It is also capable to offer 4K HDR video encoding and quad-camera concurrency.
The devices with the power of the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 mobile processor can offer 120Hz refresh rate display with Full HD+ resolution. Regarding the connectivity options, the chip supports Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and dual 5G with dual standby.
Speaking about the availability, it will be available in the fourth quarter of next year. We don’t know the name of the first smartphone which will arrive with the new chipset.
