Dell has released a new monitor Dell UltraSharp 4K IPS monitor that uses “IPS Black” technology for the first time. LG unveiled this technology at CES 2022, doubling the contrast ratio.
IPS panels usually offer a contrast ratio of 1000: 1, however these newer monitors feature a contrast ratio of 2000: 1. The Dell UltraSharp U2723QE and UltraSharp U3223QE are 27-inch and 32-inch 4K panels, respectively. They have a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels and offer a maximum brightness of 400 nits.
They cover 100% of Rec 709, sRGB color games and 98% support of DCI-P3 color games. It’s easy on the eyes with low blue light output and supports the VESA DisplayHDR 400.
However, one drawback of these monitors is the 60Hz maximum upgrade rate. This is not recommended for faster FPS games and other titles that require higher upgrade rates. Dell UltraSharp monitors typically offer 5s to 8ms GtG response time.
The monitor introduces multiple connectivity options with HDMI, DisplayPort, three USB 3.2 Gen2, and a few USB-C ports. It offers an inbuilt ethernet port and a 3.5mm audio port.
The 27-inch Dell UltraSharp 27 4K USB-C Hub Monitor U2723QE is priced at $ 779.99 and the monitors come with some heavy price tags. The 3 Dell UltraSharp 4K IPS monitor U3223QE is priced at $ 1,149.99.
