One of the unique innovations of CES 2022 is the prototype WiFi router from the TP-Link called the Archer AXE200 Omni Router.
The prototype router has four antennas that fold back when switched on and detect the best possible signal to its users. The need and functionality of this feature is still a matter of debate, but router customers are sure to find some entertainment as they move around the room and the router’s antennas follow their movements.
However, in terms of hardware and features, the AXE200 is very relevant. Adding a 6Ghz band in addition to the existing 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz bands, the WiFi 6E-enabled router introduces tri-band speeds. This new band enables users to use mobile AR / VR for low-latency applications such as gaming and 4k / 8k video streaming. This new WiFi 6E has a latency level of 2-6 milliseconds.
The TP-Link Archer AXE300 Quad-Band Router is also introduced for customers looking for a conventional but powerful WiFi router. It shares the same alien design as the Archer AXE200. The AXE300 has WiFi 6E with two (duplicate) 5GHz bands in addition to the 6Ghz and 2.4Ghz bands.
The price of this device has not been revealed yet, however TP-Link has clarified that it will be available in the market in the second quarter of 2022.
