Netflix was making noise for the past couple of months for its cheapest plan on the board with advertisements. It was also rumoured that the company will be launching the ad-supported plan on November 1 but today the company has officially announced its new ad-supported plan and which makes it the cheapest on the platform. It is currently available in the selected regions only and the same is costing under $10. It is officially confirmed that the new plan will be dubbed “Basic with Ads” and Netflix will be offering the new plan in 12 countries in the initial stage including Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Spain, the UK, and the US. Netflix will be offering the new plan from next month.
Speaking about the pricing, the newly introduced ‘Basic with ads’ plan will be priced at $6.99 per month in the US. In Canada, it is priced at CAD 5.99, and its priced at GBP 4.99 in the UK.
Netflix has also revealed that the advertisements will be 15 to 30 seconds in length and the same will play before or during a show or film. It is worth mentioning that the advertisements will not be available with a limited number of TV shows and movies due to licensing restrictions.
The newly announced plan will offer 720p video quality, and it will not enable you to download anything from the platform.
