The popular smartphone brand Oppo showcased the first in-display front camera smartphone at the MWC Shanghai 2019 event, the company already teased the device early this month, and today Oppo presented the technology behind this innovative implementation. The new setup will offer the real full view experience without any kind of notch on the top of the display.
To achieve this innovative setup, Oppo introduced both the customized display as well as the camera module. The area which is on the top of the lens is developed by a unique highly-transparent material and that is also the redesigned pixel structure to make sure the optimal transmittance of light. Furthermore, the camera features a large aperture, along with a big sensor, and greater pixel size to combat any light refraction.
That’s not all, the brand also claims that it has used three algorithms to enhance the camera performance without creating an issue to the display performance. Speaking about algorithms, the first one is for the White Balance – the company has made the needful adjustments and calibrated the color against any light sources which may obstruct the image. Next up, the HDR algorithm which will reduce overexposed highlights and increases brightness in shadows. Lastly, the Haze Removal algorithm and that is meant to solve the problem with solid material on top of the lens, and the same will improve the sharpness of the image.
Having said that, the company did not reveal any other specification details of the upcoming smartphone but said that the technology is expected to launch ‘in the near future.’
