As the time moves on, the storage amount of the micro SD cards increasing slowly. From MB’s to GB’s, the storage space on SD cards increasing very rapidly. Today Western Digital and Micron unveiled the 1TB of micro SD card at the ongoing MWC 2019.
The Western Digital’s offering will be called SanDisk Extreme microSDXC UHS-I and Micron’s storage solution will be dubbed as the Micron c200 1TB microSDXC UHS-I. So, let’s check out specifications, pricing, and availability of the newly unveiled SD cards.
Specifications
Western Digital’s 1TB microSD card claims to give 160MBps data read speed and a peak data write speed of 90MBps. The card follows the A2 specification for launching and loading apps, and claims the performance of 400 IOPS (read) and 2000 IOPs (write).
Coming to the Micron c200, it offers a read speed of 100MBps and write speed of 95MBps. The Micron card can speed-up the data write pace by employing the Dynamic SLC cache, aside from performing automatic resource management for sustained peak performance.
Pricing and availability
The pricing has not revealed yet, but SanDisk Extreme microSDXC UHS-I will available from April this year and Micron c200 will available in the second quarter of the year.
