The highly anticipated 5G connectivity is now official in the country as the Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the next generation 5G telecom services today at the inauguration ceremony of the India Mobile Congress. Starting with the Reliance Jio stall, the Prime Minister of the country witnessed the 5G virtual reality experience via the Jio Glass. The Prime Minister received more tech demos at the stalls set up by Airtel, Vodafone Idea, among others. The demos include precision drone-based farming, automated guided vehicles, and many more.
The next generation 5G connectivity is believed to offer up to 10 times faster experience than 4G. It is believed to be capable of providing ultra-low latency and high-speed connections even in densely crowded areas. The new connectivity will be beneficial in various sections such as e-health, augmented reality, automated vehicles, advanced mobile cloud gaming, and more.
Availability of 5G connectivity in India
Airtel will start offering 5G connectivity in the country in as many as 8 cities from today itself and other cities include Delhi, Mumbai, Varanasi, and Bangalore. It is also revealed that Airtel will cover the 5G connectivity across the country by March 2024.
On the other hand, it is also revealed that Jio 5G services will be available across the country in every district and taluka by the end of December 2023. It is also revealed that the Jio 5G pricing will be the most affordable in the world.
