India is getting a massive boost for its ‘Make in India’ initiative, as the Indian Telecom and IT Minister Ashwini Yadav has officially announced that the technological join the Apple’s largest manufacturing unit is being built in the country.
It is also said that the manufacturing plant will be located in Hosur and it is a place which is around 40 km away from Bengaluru. It is also said to be the largest manufacturing plant in the country of the brand.
The plant is reportedly employ 60,000 people in a single facory and the first 6,000 employees are tribal women from areas like Ranchi and Hazaribagh.
It is also revealed that the staffs have been trained to make the smartphone and will soon be joining the workforce. Having said that, in the month of September it was reported that Tata Group could make iPhones for Apple in the country.
It is worth mentioning that Apple is currently having three Taiwanese contract manufacturers in India with Foxconn’s unit located in Tamil Nadu, Pegatron near Chennai, and Wistron in Bengaluru.
The upcoming plant of Apple will definitely help the country to get more job opportunities and we can also expected for a price drop in the Apple products as it will be manufactured locally.
