The Indian smartphone market is considered to be the hot place for the brands because the consumer of the country purchases devices but now it seems that the trend has changed as it is reported that the smartphone market is declining but premium and 5G smartphone market is strengthening.
The Indian smartphone market witnessed yet another quarter of decline in the third quarter of this year according to IDC and the shipments also reduced by 10% YoY.
It is worth mentioning that this was the lowest third-quarter shipment since 2019. It is said that the Chinese electronics giant Xiaomi managed to secure its place at the number one position while Samsung regained the second slot but Realme dropped to fourth place. Vivo and Oppo are in 3rd and 5th position respectively.
It is also revealed that Samsung is leading the 5G category with a 27% share, while Vivo was second with a 15% share.
Having said that, the premium segment gained a growth of 64% YoY with an 8% market share. Apple led this category with a 63% share while Samsung and OnePlus at 22% and 9% respectively.
