Microsoft enables users to transfer files between the computer and phone using its Phone Link application but the procedure requires a Samsung Galaxy smartphone. However, now it seems that Microsoft now wants to expand the list of the devices with a new feature dubbed Drop in the Microsoft Edge browser. This particular feature will enable you to transfer files between your PC and phone.
The new Drop feature in Microsoft Edge is in the testing stage and the same will be one of the sidebar widgets that will enable you to transfer files. Microsoft has done something like a messenger and you can able to send the files with a drag and drop set up.
It is worth mentioning that the feature is not powered with any local transfer setup but it is actually a front end for OneDrive and your files will be uploaded to the cloud storage, it will take your cloud storage space.
This feature will enable you to upload any files without opening the cloud storage of Microsoft and you can upload it directly from the browser. It will be handy for those who are using Microsoft Edge as the primary browser.
Once a file uploaded, it will be available for all the devices which are signed in to your Microsoft account.
