The satellite communication is the new trend in the smartphone industry as popular smartphone brands are offering this particular connectivity option in their devices and Huawei as well as Apple already started to offer the same. It is also believed that Samsung is gearing up to implement satellite communication in its upcoming Samsung Galaxy S23 flagship smartphone series as well which will be official in the early days of February next year.
Now things are going to the next level as Bullitt Group, a smartphone manufacturer based in the UK is joining its hand with the popular chipset maker MediaTek to unveil the world’s first smartphone with two-way satellite messaging technology.
The company has also confirmed that the device with two-way satellite messaging setup will be official in the first quarter of next year.
To enable direct-to-satellite communications in its next generation of 5G smartphones, the company is working with MediaTek and it is said that the work is on for the past 18 months. It is said that the company will be the first to use MediaTek’s 3GPP NTN (Non-Terrestrial Network) chipset, along with proprietary software and service components to support the OTT satellite messaging service.
