Epic Games Store reports that 15 games will be released for free later this month, every day from this December 16th to 30th a title is offered.
The information comes from Billbill-Kun (via the Video Games Chronicle), a Dealabs user who correctly leaked the titles included with Gold in the Xbox Live Games in December, along with the PS Plus lineups for September, October, November and December.
The user claims that the promotion will start on December 16th with a free copy of Shenmue 3. The year-end sale will also start on the same day and will run until January 6, 2022. The first 14 games are reportedly only available for one day each day, with the final 15th title being available for a full week.
Epic Games gave away 15 games last year and 12 free games in 2019, which means this year’s prize will follow the same format again.
According to a document released as a result of the legal battle between Epic and Apple, approximately $ 12 million was spent securing free games between December 2018 and September 2019 for regular prizes. A total of 38 games were distributed over a nine-month period, each of which required a different ‘purchase price’ for their developers.
While games such as Subnautica, Mutant Year Zero, and the Batman Arkham Collection cost between $ 1 million and $ 1.5 million, there were titles like Super Meat Boy and Epic for less than $ 50,000.
